The need
In Tekazamt, near Agadez, children were schooled under a temporary tent classroom. Each rainy season, the school had to close.
A brick-built school both extends the school year and provides a calmer learning environment.
The action
Construction of a brick classroom by Nigerien artisans, supervised by the local water-management committees (COGES).
School furniture provided, training for the lead teacher, lunch meals provided during the first year.
The results
80 children schooled full-time since the 2024 back-to-school.
Pedagogical continuity ensured through the rainy season.
